Review: Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi Marrakech
Review of Mövenpick Hotel in Marrakech
Located in the new town of Marrakech, Mövenpick Hotel is a 5-star luxury resort that is home to 503 rooms, three magnificent swimming pools, and four on-site restaurants, it’s the largest hotel in Marrakech. Everything about this place screams luxury. The entrance feels like you are walking into a beautiful temple with the tranquil sound of water running, soothing smells and a serving of sweet mint tea on arrival – a Moroccan favourite. Your luggage is whisked away by the bell boy and then you are escorted to your room. Inside, we were welcome again with more treats: sweet Moroccan pastries and a plate of fresh fruit. We stayed in the Superior Garden View Room which had a bath big enough to fit 5 people – but best enjoyed alone or with two, mind you.
We kicked off our shoes, got into our swimming suits and headed straight to the spa located just a short walk from our room. It was the most relaxing place on earth and is free for all hotel guests to use. There’s a gym for dedicated holiday fitness freaks ( respect to those who workout on vacation, I wish I could be like you!), a traditional hamman, and a jacuzzi
After soaking in the perfectly heated jacuzzi we then headed to the largest pool in the complex and spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around. The pool is heated to 28 degrees making it the perfect temp to go for a dip during any season you visit. We even ordered pizza and glass of wine that was delivered directly to our lounge chairs – this is the life!
When our skin had a reddish glow and the sun had started to set, we returned to our room for a quick a shower before heading to dinner. Mövenpick Hotel boasts 5 on-site restaurants and there’s something for everyone. We headed to their newest restaurant, Urban Brasserie, serving french-morocco cuisine. Order their beef fillet and salted caramel cake, you won’t be disappointed!
Waking up in our gorgeous king sized bed was absolute bliss. The grounds are incredibly quiet and it’s so easy to get a great nights sleep in the comfort of the stunning rooms at Mövenpick. Time for breakfast? Yes please. Their buffet style breakfast was easily one of the biggest and most impressive I’ve ever experienced. There were endless stations of foods and drinks including a DIY omelet station (well, you pick the ingredients and the chefs will whip one up for you). Not to mention there were SEVERAL pancake stations serving up the traditional Moroccan crepes – they’re fluffy, they’re crispy and they’re life changing!
We had such a relaxing time at Mövenpick, we really weren’t ready to leave the next morning. We decided that before we were due to head to the hectic Medina for our afternoon plans, we needed to fit in one last trip to the pool. So once again we headed to the main pool and had a post-breakfast nap in the sun.
This is the perfect place to experience modern luxury with a traditional Moroccan feel. If you have kids, there is a massive creche located on site. If you’re traveling with your partner, you’ll never need to leave the resort with several romantic restaurants on site and couple spa treatments available too. Girls trip? Cocktails by the pool and pedicures at the spa are the perf way to unwind with your girl tribe.
