I’m very excited to take you through my alternative guide to the best things to do in Ibiza, besides clubbing. I’ve visited Ibiza multiple times now, and every trip has convinced me even more that there’s SO much more to this wee little island than its famous party scene.
In this guide, you’ll find some of my favourite places I’ve discovered across Ibiza, from beautiful beaches and hidden coves to banging foodie spots, cute villages, sunset sailing trips and wellness activities like yoga and spa days. Basically, all the things that keep me coming back to the island.
Ibiza is one of Spain’s beautiful Balearic Islands, alongside Mallorca and Menorca, both of which I’ve also written travel guides for if you’re planning a bit of island hopping (which I fully support).
If you went to Ibiza and didn’t go partying, did you really even go to Ibiza at all? Yes. Yes I did. Multiple times, actually. And I’m proud of the fact I’ve avoided the sweaty dark nightclubs and situations where I’d be forced to fork out €18 for a bottle of water. No thanks!
Besides, I can see some of the world’s best DJs right here in London. So if I’m going to catch an overcrowded Ryanair flight to a Mediterranean island, you better believe I’m making the most of being somewhere this beautiful. Give me lazy beach days, turquoise coves, long lunches, yoga in the sunshine, boat trips and ridiculous sunsets any day.

Best things to do in Ibiza
1. Explore Dalt Vila – Ibiza’s Old Town
Only steps away from Ibiza’s notorious nightclubs lies a historic Old Town where cobblestone streets wind uphill towards a castle overlooking the port. Dalt Vila literally translates to “Upper Town” and its fortified old quarter forms part of Ibiza’s UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I came here around 9 am on a Sunday morning, when most of the island’s partygoers were either fast asleep – or, let’s be honest, still partying – and I practically had the place to myself.
The streets were blissfully quiet, lined with yawning cats, colourful doorways and cascading pink and purple bougainvillea. If you want to take photos without the crowds, I’d definitely recommend an early start. By around 10 am, the first signs of life appeared with the clinking of glasses and chairs being pulled across pavements as cafés began opening for the day.
One of my favourite stops was S’Escalinata, a tiny bar built into a staircase where colourful cushions spill down the stone steps. It’s the perfect place to stop for a drink after exploring.
I’d also recommend visiting MACE (Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa), Ibiza’s contemporary art museum tucked within the historic city walls. Entry is free, making it an easy addition while wandering Dalt Vila.
And if you find yourself here in the evening, stay for dinner. Can d’en Parra and La Oliva are two gorgeous restaurants tucked amongst the Old Town’s atmospheric streets.
2. Go on a Sunset Sailing Cruise
Ibiza has no shortage of incredible sunset spots, but I think one of the best viewpoints is actually out at sea. A sunset sailing cruise is an absolute must-do in Ibiza, and this small-group sailing experience from San Antonio was much more my pace than squeezing onto a huge party boat!
Our group was limited to just 10 people, and I loved that we had a female captain – shoutout to Maggie, the ultimate Wonder Woman. We climbed aboard, were handed glasses of cava and found a spot at the front of the yacht to sunbathe as we sailed out of the harbour.
The four-hour trip takes you along Ibiza’s coastline before anchoring in a beautiful cove for around an hour. We stopped at Cala Comte and were invited to swim, snorkel or try stand-up paddleboarding, although I spent most of my time floating around in the ridiculously clear water. After a hot day in Ibiza, jumping into the sea felt GLORIOUS.
Back onboard, there’s an open bar with cava, wine, beer and soft drinks, plus snacks to enjoy as golden hour begins. We watched the setting sun scatter what looked like sparkling diamonds across the Mediterranean as we made our way back towards San Antonio.
I also loved how social the small-group sailing experience was. We actually got to know the other guests onboard, swapping travel stories and making promises to visit each other’s home cities.
Alternatively, if you’re reading this and you’re in your 20s and looking for a party vibe, try this Sunset Boat Party Cruise with DJs & an open bar.
3. Visit Ibiza’s Hippy Markets
Ibiza’s hippy markets have been part of the island’s culture for decades, and the most famous is Las Dalias in the north of the island. The market began with just five stalls in 1985 and has since grown to more than 300.
I honestly expected it to be quite small, but it was HUGE. Rows of stalls seemed to keep going, selling everything from handmade jewellery and high-quality linen clothing to vintage finds, artwork and homewares. I even spotted local artisans making pieces right there at their stalls, which made it feel far less like your typical tourist market filled with plastic tat.
There are also bars and food stalls dotted throughout, plus live music giving the whole place a really chilled atmosphere. There’s a huge car park nearby too, which cost me a flat fee of €4 for the day.
Las Dalias is open year-round, although hours change seasonally. From June to September, the main Hippy Market takes place on Saturdays (10am–8pm in June and September; 10am–10pm in July and August). There’s also a Night Market during the summer months on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from 7pm, which I’d love to experience next time.
If you’re visiting outside summer, check the opening hours online at lasdalias.es before making the journey, as they change throughout the year.
Las Dalias isn’t your only option either! Punta Arabí Hippy Market takes place on Wednesdays on the east coast in Es Canar, while San Juan (Sant Joan in Catalan) Artisan Market is held every Sunday in the north of the island.
4. Watch the Sunset at Benirràs Beach
If there’s one sunset experience I wouldn’t miss in Ibiza, it’s Benirràs Beach. This little cove in the north of the island is famous for its drummers, who gather around sunset to play hypnotic, melodic rhythms as the sun disappears behind the horizon.
I arrived around 7:30 pm in August, just as golden hour was hitting. As I walked onto the beach, I could hear the drums before I could even see them. Around a dozen drummers had gathered near the old fishermen’s huts, surrounded by a huge crowd dancing along to the beat.
The tradition has an interesting history too. In 1991, hundreds gathered at Benirràs for an anti-war protest against the Gulf War, an event that became known as the “Day of the Drums”. The sunset drumming subsequently became a symbol of peace and Ibiza’s free-spirited culture.
Walk further along the beach, and you’ll find steps leading up the cliffside. I climbed up here for an amazing view over the drummers and across the bay as the sun dipped behind Cap Bernat, the striking rock formation nicknamed “the Finger of God”.
There’s also a small hippy market at Benirràs Beach selling jewellery, clothing and crafts, plus several restaurants around the beach. Parking was free when I visited on a Friday evening, and despite looking busy, I was lucky and found a space straight away. One final tip: the beach toilets cost €0.50, so keep some coins handy!
5. Beach Day at Cala Nova
Located on the beautiful golden sand beach of Cala Nova, Atzaró Beach Restaurant is a fun and authentic Ibiza restaurant.
Atzaró has lots of comfy sunbeds where you can chill all day and soak up the rays, which is exactly what we did before taking a break and enjoying their modern selection of tapas and tasty cocktails.
6. Sunset cocktails at Aiyanna Ibiza
Aiyanna is another restaurant on Cala Nova that is boho yet chic with the most vibrant beach umbrellas unlike any you would have ever seen before.
Only laidback vibes at Aiyanna, there are plenty of places to chill, lots of sofas and oversized bean bags. Their Mediterranean menu features healthy hearty eats.
My favourite dish? Their Spanish black rice with cuttlefish, prawns and a kaffir lime mayonnaise.
7. Tuck into Tapas at Can d’en Parra
Here’s a restaurant you won’t find on Instagram! Tucked away in the cobbled streets of Ibiza’s old town, you’ll find this charming little family-run restaurant, Can D’en Parra.
Look out for the blue door and pink tablecloths. It’s the perfect spot to people-watch (one of my favourite pastimes!) and devour some incredibly fresh seafood and tapas.
8. Pool Day at Pure House Ibiza
Pure House Ibiza is a home away from home, a secluded sanctuary surrounded by tropical greenery and olive groves.
Just a short drive from Ibiza town, when you arrive at Pure House you will be instantly transported to Bali with their modern beige decor, hammocks and cabanas.
We spent a day here lounging by their pool, drinking cava and eating their organic and healthy lunch offerings (drowned in their homemade olive oil of course). The most luxurious ways to spend a few hours and make time stand still.
9. Sushi at Cotton Beach Club
With ocean views bluer than Chris Hemsworth’s eyes and whitewashed walls and interiors that would make you think you’re actually in Greece, Cotton Beach Club is a luxurious beach restaurant located on Cala Tarida.
The menu is a mix of Mediterranean classics with Asian flavours and an extensive sushi menu. You’ll also have access to the private beach below which is as picture-perfect as it looks in the snaps above.

MalaQuita Boutique Hotel 💧☀️ — set in Santa Eulària des Riu, I recently stayed at this laid-back boutique hotel, which has a gorgeous Mediterranean feel with natural textures, earthy tones and plenty of greenery. There’s an outdoor pool surrounded by palms, plus I was within within easy reach of the beach and Santa Eulària’s restaurants.
Can Salia 💧☀️ — tucked along the coast of San Antonio Bay, this stylish aparthotel is particularly good for longer stays, with spacious suites and kitchenettes. The rooftop infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean is the real selling point, especially around sunset.
Parador de Ibiza 💧 — sitting within the UNESCO-listed walls of Dalt Vila, this hotel occupies Ibiza Castle at the very top of the old town. Opening in early 2026, this hotel features modern interiors, a swimming pool and a stunning spa/wellness area. Unlike most Ibiza hotels, it’s open all year round too!
Hotel Riomar Ibiza 💧☀️ — set directly on the beachfront in Santa Eulària des Riu, this design-led hotel has light Mediterranean interiors, a pool surrounded by greenery and its own stretch of beach.
Montesol Experimental — set in the heart of Ibiza Town, this historic boutique hotel mixes colourful, retro-inspired interiors with one of the best locations for exploring Dalt Vila and an epic rooftop with gorgeous views across the old town. Closest beaches are a 20 min walk or 5 minute taxi ride!

Hyde Ibiza 💧☀️ — I stayed at this stylish beachfront hotel on Cala Llonga and loved the laid-back, boho feel. There are two outdoor pools, loads of spots to eat and drink overlooking the sea, plus you can step straight from the hotel onto the beach.
OKU Ibiza 💧☀️ — tucked near Cala Gració in San Antonio, this design-led hotel has earthy interiors, a huge lagoon-style pool, spa and several restaurants and bars. You’re also just a short walk from the beach.
Cala San Miguel Ibiza Resort 💧☀️ — set directly on the beach in Puerto de San Miguel, this adults-only resort has modern Mediterranean interiors, outdoor pools and gorgeous views across the bay. A great option for a quieter stay in northern Ibiza.
ME by Meliá Ibiza 💧☀️ — located on the beachfront in S’Argamassa near Santa Eulària, this sleek 5-star hotel has multiple pools, direct beach access and a rooftop with an infinity pool and gorgeous sea views.

Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay 💧☀️ — set directly on Talamanca Bay, this gorgeous 5-star hotel has two pools, a Six Senses spa and direct access to the beach. There are four restaurants on-site, including Nobu, plus you’re only a short drive from Ibiza Town.
Petunia Ibiza 💧☀️ — tucked away near Cala Carbó, this dreamy adults-only hotel has a gorgeous pool surrounded by gardens and one of the best views of Es Vedrà. The earthy Mediterranean interiors are equally lovely, plus there’s a rooftop (La Mirada) for sunset drinks.
Hacienda Na Xamena 💧☀️ — perched dramatically on the cliffs near Sant Miquel de Balansat, this 5-star hotel has ridiculous Mediterranean views, several pools and a spa famous for its cascading outdoor thalassotherapy pools built into the cliffside.
Agroturismo Atzaró 💧 — hidden amongst the countryside near Santa Eulària des Riu, this beautiful agroturismo is surrounded by orange groves and gardens. There’s a huge pool, gorgeous spa, yoga and wellness experiences, plus farm-to-table restaurants using produce grown on the estate.
Six Senses Ibiza 💧☀️ — set on the waterfront at Cala Xarraca in northern Ibiza (near Portinatx), this seriously luxe resort combines gorgeous sea views with direct water access, an outdoor pool and a huge focus on wellness, with a spa, yoga and plenty of treatments.
Ca Na Xica 💧 — surrounded by countryside near Sant Miquel de Balansat, this peaceful boutique hotel has a gorgeous outdoor pool, spa and minimalist Mediterranean interiors. A great option if you want a quieter Ibiza stay away from the busier beach resorts.
Ibiza 3 Day Itinerary
This is my recommendation on how to spend the perfect long weekend in Ibiza. This 3-day itinerary features a mix of beach hopping, wellness activities, remarkable landscapes, stunning restaurants and Renaissance towns.
DAY ONE
Morning
Visit Cala Saladeta – one of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza. Get here early (approx 8 am) to secure a parking space, then spend the morning swimming and visiting the neighbouring beach, Cala Salada. The water here is ridiculously clear!
Afternoon
Grab lunch around San Antonio (I recommend Bambino) and spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel/pool before heading back out for sunset.
Evening
From San Antonio, head out along Ibiza’s west coast for this Evening Sailing Boat Cruise
and watch the sunset from the water, stopping for a swim along the way in a beautiful cove.
DAY tWO
Morning
Spend the morning at Las Dalias Hippy Market, browsing the colourful market stalls for jewellery, clothing, art and handmade souvenirs.
Afternoon
Choose between a relaxing afternoon at Agroturismo Atzaró’s gorgeous countryside spa OR head to Cala Nova for lunch and an afternoon at Atzaró Beach, chilling on a daybed and swimming in the sea.
Evening
Finish your trip at one of Ibiza’s most iconic sunset spots, Benirràs Beach. Stay as the sun goes down, and you might catch the drummers gathering on the beach – a tradition Benirràs has become famous for.
DAY THREE
Morning
Spend the morning exploring Dalt Vila (Ibiza’s UNESCO-listed Old Town) before the midday heat kicks in. Stop by S’Escalinata for a drink and pop into MACE, Ibiza’s contemporary art museum.
Lunch
Book a table for lunch at Cotton Beach Club overlooking Cala Tarida for lunch, then head down to the beach for a post-meal swim.
Afternoon
Drive around 15 minutes to Cala Comte and spend the rest of the afternoon swimming in its turquoise water and exploring the little coves.
Evening
Head north for a magical sunset dinner at Eden (located at Hacienda Na Xamena, Ibiza) overlooking the coast.
