I’m very excited to take you through my alternative guide to Ibiza. Because there’s so much to this wee little island to cover in such a wee little blog post. Here are my top things to do in Ibiza including the most Instagrammable hotel ever, beautiful beaches and aesthetically pleasing restaurants
If you went to Ibiza and didn’t go clubbing, did you really even go to Ibiza at all? Yes. Yes I did. And I’m proud of the fact I avoided the sweaty dark nightclubs and situations where I’d be forced to fork out €18 for a bottle of water, no thanks! Besides I can see the world’s best DJs right here in London. So if I’m going to catch an overcrowded Ryanair flight to a tropical island, you better believe I’m staying outside and enjoying the island for what it is: a sandy slice of heaven.
Top things to do in Ibiza
Explore Ibiza’s Old Town
Photo above taken at: Carrer del Comte de Rosselló, 3, 07800 Eivissa, Illes Balears
There are many hidden gems inside Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s Old Town. This is the area to go to if you wish to escape the party vibes of Ibiza’s port and instead walk through the cobbled streets and admire the romantic old buildings. There are plenty of unique boutiques, bars and restaurants in this area, read on to see my recommendations.
Beach Day at Cala Nova
Atzaró Beach Restaurant
Playa, Av. Cala Nova, s/n, 07849, Islas Baleares
Located on the beautiful golden sand beach of Cala Nova, Atzaró Beach Restaurant is a fun and authentic Ibiza restaurant. Atzaró has lots of comfy sunbeds where you can chill all day and soak up the rays, which is exactly what we did before taking a break and enjoying their modern selection of tapas and tasty cocktails.
Sunset cocktails at Aiyanna
Aiyanna Ibiza
Avinguda Cala Nova, s/n, Cala Nova, 07850 Eivissa, Illes Balears
Aiyanna is another restaurant on Cala Nova that is boho yet chic with the most vibrant beach umbrellas unlike any you would have ever seen before. Only laidback vibes at Aiyanna, there are plenty of places to chill, lots of sofas and oversized bean bags. Their Mediterranean menu features healthy hearty eats. My favourite dish? Their Spanish black rice with cuttlefish, prawns and a kaffir lime mayonnaise.
Stay at Wi-Ki-Woo Hotel
Wi-Ki-Woo Hotel Ibiza
Carrer Ponent, 14, 07820 Sant Antoni de Portmany, Illes Balears
This is the hotel that Instagram built. For real though, have you seen a more aesthetically pleasing hotel & pool other than the one at Wi-Ki-Woo Hotel? Located just a short walk from the beautiful beach of Caló des Moro, this hotel is perf for a girls trip… did I mention all rooms come equipped with a hair straightener, fluffy robes and slippers? Yasssss. The attention to detail of the interior and exterior art-deco-inspired design at Wi-Ki-Woo Hotel is just incredible. Don’t forget your camera because this place is packed to the brim with photo ops and unforgettable moments.
Tapas at Can d’en Parra
Wi-Ki-Woo Hotel Ibiza
Carrer de Sant Carles, 6, 07800 Eivissa, Illes Balears
Here’s a restaurant you won’t find on Instagram! Tucked away in the cobbled streets in Ibiza’s old town, you’ll find this charming little family-run restaurant, Can D’en Parra. Look out for the blue door and pink table cloths. It’s the perfect spot to people watch (one of my favourite past times!) and devour some incredibly fresh seafood and tapas.
Day Party at O Beach Ibiza
Carrer des Molí, 12-14, 07820 Sant Antoni de Portmany, Illes Balears
If you think you’ve been to a pool party before, think again. Although we did avoid the nightclubs this trip to Ibiza that doesn’t mean we wanted to miss out on all the fun. O beach Ibiza is the ultimate day club where all the action happens around their 600m2 swimming pool. There’s eye candy for miles, banging tunes and so much entertainment. Check out their events calendar for the low-down on all their parties and poolside sessions. We had the best day-to-early-evening here but don’t make the same mistake I did: wear your swimmers or you’ll regret it.
Sangria at S’Escalinata
Carrer Portal Nou, 10, 07800 Eivissa, Illes Balears
Looking to kill a few hours with the most blissed-out view? Head to S’Escalinata, a bohemian bar in Ibiza’s old town. Pull up a bean bag and sip on a Sangria, or Cava, or any liquid of your choice accompanied with a quick bite. From the steps, you’ll have a view over Ibiza’s Port so make sure to head there for sunset.
Pool Day at Pure House Ibiza
Carrer del Llobarro, 07800, Illes Balears
Pure House Ibiza is a home away from home, a secluded sanctuary surrounded by tropical greenery and olive grove. Just a short drive from Ibiza town, when you arrive at Pure House you will be instantly transported to Bali with their modern beige decor, hammocks and cabanas. We spent a day here lounging by their pool, drinking cava and eating their organic and healthy lunch offerings (drowned in their home-made olive oil of course). The most luxurious ways to spend a few hours and make time stand still.
Sushi at Cotton Beach Club
Carrer Posta de Sol, Carrer de Cala Tarida, 21, 07829, Illes Balears
With ocean views bluer than Chris Hemsworth’s eyes and whitewashed walls and interiors that would make you think you’re actually in Greece, Cotton Beach Club is a luxurious beach restaurant located on Cala Tarida. The menu is a mix of Mediterranean classics with Asian flavours and an extensive sushi menu. You’ll also have access to the private beach below which is as picture-perfect as it looks in the snaps above.
