Official Copenhagen City Card
With the Copenhagen City Card you can get FREE ENTRY to over 80+ attractions as well as 24 hours of free public transport. This includes entrance to the famous Tivoli Gardens (normally €20) and access to popular activities like the Canal Cruise Tour (save €15), as well as many museums and galleries. I recommend buying the 24-hour pass and doing at least 3-5 activities in 1 day, you’ll save a lot of money and hassle!
Best time to visit Copenhagen
Copenhagen is truly a city that you can visit any time of year and have an amazing trip! Spring (April to June) and Summer (June to August) are the most ideal months for blossoming gardens, mild temperatures, al fresco dining along the canal and making the most of the long days where it stays light in the evening until as late as 11 pm in June.
Autumn/Fall (September to November) showcases a tapestry of autumnal hues, casting a cozy ambiance over the city’s parks and streets. Winter (December to February) blankets Copenhagen in a magical atmosphere, with festive Christmas markets and a chance to embrace the Danish concept of “hygge” in snug cafes. There are also plenty of museums, art galleries, and shops to duck into and escape the cold.
How to get around Copenhagen
Getting around Copenhagen is a breeze, thanks to its flat terrain and pedestrian-friendly layout. The city is a walker’s paradise, with many attractions within a 15-minute walking distance.
Embrace the local lifestyle by renting a bicycle — Copenhagen is renowned for its cycling culture, and the extensive network of bike lanes makes exploring on two wheels both practical and enjoyable.
Copenhagen’s efficient public transportation system includes buses, trains, and the metro. You can buy 24 – 120 hour City Passes with unlimited public transport on the DOT Tickets app. A 24-hour pass is £9.30/$11.70 or a single journey ticket is £2.80/$3.50.
Taxis are readily available and while there is no Uber available in Copenhagen, there is an alternative app called Viggo.
