Top things to do in Mykonos
1. 🌺 Wander through the streets of Mykonos Old Town/Chora
Get lost (literally) in the picture-perfect streets of Chora, where every corner is a postcard. This maze of whitewashed walls is filled with bougainvillaea, romantic restaurants and chic clothing boutiques. I recommend coming here early in the morning to take photos before it gets crowded.
2. ⛵️ Cruise around the island on a catamaran
Sail off into the Aegean across crystal-clear waters in this Half Day Catamaran Cruise Tour. During this sailing adventure you’ll discover the islands of Delos and Rhenia and enjoy a complimentary lunch and local rosé and beer. This is hands down the best way to explore Mykonos!
3. 🍽️ Dinner at Kastro’s
You’ve most likely seen Kastro’s dreamy restaurant on Instagram at least once before, with those unbeatable sea views it’s hard to scroll past. I recommend booking an early dinner for your best chance of getting an outdoor table. Note: breakfast & lunch are ins only, reservations are for dinner only from 5pm online at kastrosmykonos.com
4. 🍹 Cocktails at Negrita
Grab a cocktail and take in the waterfront buzz at Negrita. It’s the ultimate spot to toast to your Mykonos holiday — with a side of people-watching, of course.
5. ⛪️ Visit Paraportiani Church
This isn’t just a church — it’s THE church of Mykonos. Its all-white, minimalist design makes this church one of the most photographed spots on the island. However, it’s not just a backdrop, this church dates back to the 1400s and is an important historic site.
6. 🏺 Archaeological Museum of Mykonos
Who said Mykonos was just for partying? Get your dose of culture at The Archaeological Museum of Mykonos with ancient artefacts from around the island. It’s small but packed with history.
In the summer season (April 1 to October 31) the museum is open everyday from 9am, however closed on Tuesdays. Tickets cost 4€.
7. 😍 Admire the Kati Myli windmills
No trip to Mykonos is complete without a photo in front of these iconic windmills. Pro tip: head there at golden hour for the best snaps.
8. 🏝️ Discover the island of Delos
Located just a quick 30-minute boat ride from Mykonos Town is the ancient island of Delos. In this Half Day Delos Guided Tour, with your guide leading the way, you’ll explore fascinating landmarks like the House of Dionysus, the Colossus of the Naxians, and the Temple of Apollo.
9. 🪩 Party at Scorpio’s
Even if you’re clubbing days are long over like me, you can’t miss a visit to this legendary beach club known for its electric atmosphere, live DJ sets and epic sunsets. What I loved about Scorpio’s, is that it attracts a crowd of all ages, with one thing in common: a love for good music.
During the day this venue is also a great place to head to for seaside dining and lots of sunbeds to sprawl out on the beach. Reservations are needed, which you can book online at scorpios.com/mykonos.
10. 💦 Beach day at Paraga or Fokos
Paraga is buzzing, Fokos is more laid-back and remote — whatever your beach vibe, both are absolute winners. If you’re struggling to pick just one, check which beach is closest to your accomodation.
11. 🍷 Explore the Vineyards of Mykonos
Sip your way through Mykonos with this dreamy Vineyard & Wine Tasting Tour. You’ll sample delicious local wines paired with Greek bites, all while soaking up the island’s stunning countryside vibes.
12. 🥗 Lunch at Mamalouka
Mamalouka is your go-to restaurant for Mediterranean vibes and seriously good food. Fresh seafood, dreamy Greek salads, and a setting so pretty you’ll never want to leave.
13. 🌅 Enjoy the view from 180 Sunset Bar
For sunset chasers, this is the spot. Order a cocktail, grab a seat, and soak up (you guessed it) 180° panoramic views across Mykonos from one of the most popular bars on the island.
This might be the only bar where you can actually reserve the specific seat/table you want online at 180.bar (note: there is a minimum spend if you do this). Otherwise you can enter the bar without a reservation and try your luck, just allow enough time for queues.
14. 🍿 Open air cinema – Cine Manto
Movies under the stars? Cine Manto is an outdoor cinema in Mykonos Old Town surrounded by lush gardens and a restaurant. There’s regular evening showings from May through to October. Check their Summer programme at cinemanto.gr
15. ☕️ Relax with a coffee in Little Venice
Little Venice is where coffee meets coastline. Sip on an iced latte, watch the waves, and just soak in the charm of this dreamy little nook of Mykonos.
